LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals Launch Ladieslinksforegolf.com
Stuart, Florida (PRWEB) April 23, 2008 -- LPGA teaching and club professionals Lynn Stellman, Debbie O' Connell and Teresa Zamboni have launched ladieslinksforegolf.com, the first online women's amateur golf "community" to link members to professional instruction, handicapping, tournaments, tips and seminars with top LPGA Class A golf instructors.
"Ladieslinksforegolf.com was established to expand learning and playing opportunities for amateur women golfers," said Lynn Stellman, chief executive officer of the company. "Our online golf community gives women access to professional support and instruction, and to online tools that provide handicapping, stroke analysis, and much more -- all designed to enhance our members' knowledge of and ability to play and enjoy the game of golf."
"Interest in women's amateur golf is expected to increase substantially over the coming decade as more baby boomers reach retirement, and as more females reach executive ranks in the workplace," said Teresa Zamboni, director of tournaments at ladieslinksforegolf.com. "We want to make it easy for these growing ranks of golfers to link up with experts who can 'coach' them in every aspect of the game, from fitness and health strategies to mental game strategies."
In addition to professional golf instructors, the ladieslinksforegolf.com team of experts includes certified personal trainers, a licensed psychologist and a licensed nurse practitioner -- all focused on helping members achieve their personal best in golf and in life.
"In 2006, female adult golfers represented only a quarter of the total 23.9 million adult golfers, and played only 18% of the total adult rounds," said Debbie O' Connell, co-founder of ladieslinksforegolf.com. "We want to level the playing field by opening new doors to female golfers and providing new opportunities at an affordable price."
"Membership in ladieslinksforegolf.com starts at $39.99, an introductory rate that will last through May 2008," O'Connell added.
A 19-year veteran of women's professional golf and a former celebrity golfer and radio show host of "The Debbie O'Connell Show," which aired from 1995 to 2005 in West Palm Beach, FL, O'Connell has been the recipient of numerous golf industry awards through the years. Most recently, she won the LPGA's 2007 Nancy Lopez Achievement Award. She previously earned the LPGA's National Professional of the Year and Southeast Section Professional of the Year awards. In addition to her ladieslinksforegolf.com role, she is head golf professional at Piper's Landing Yacht & Country Club in Stuart, FL.
Zamboni is a certified personal trainer and has been a member of the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals since 1995. She was recently named the LPGA's 2007 Teacher of the Year. A former LPGA Futures Tour competitor from 1998 to 2001, Zamboni has participated in more than 50 LPGA T&CP sanctioned U.S. tournaments and has been a frequent host for LPGA teaching events. Prior to joining Ladies' Links Fore Golf, Zamboni was the golf academy director at one of the nation's most prestigious golf courses, the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, where she was recognized for her innovations in developing exceptional golf instructional programs and for integrating fitness training into golf education.
Stellman is a 31-year veteran of women's professional golf and is considered one of the LPGA's foremost teaching professionals. In 2007 she was nominated for the LPGA's Ellen Griffin award, honoring entrepreneurial spirit in creating instructional programs and affordable, competitive playing opportunities for golfers. Stellman currently is director of golf at Martin County Golf & Country Club in Stuart, one of the busiest public golf facilities in the nation. In addition to co-founding ladieslinksforegolf.com, in 1990 Stellman co-founded the Treasure Coast Junior Golf Tour, which has enriched the lives of more than 10,000 junior golfers. A 22-year member of the LPGA, Stellman is also president of the Southeast LPGA T&CP Section. She has participated in more than 100 LPGA T&CP-sanctioned tournaments and was the winner of the 2000 LPGA T&CP Mixed Team Championship. She has received numerous golf awards, including the LPGA Sarah Hunter Junior Achievement Award for commitment to junior golf, and the Stellman Award for outstanding contributions to junior golf advancement in coastal Florida.
Ladieslinksforegolf.com will be holding its first member invitational tournament for women amateurs of all ages and skill levels at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL on April 26-28.
