Body Balance for Performance-Naples Sponsors First Annual Play Golf America Pro-Am
Naples, Fla. (PRWEB) November 7, 2007 -- Body Balance for Performance-Naples (http://www.naples.fitgolf.com) has again teamed up with the local PGA chapter - this time to help grow the game of golf through the Play Golf America initiative.
The PGA Play Golf America Demo Day starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, and is open to the public.
"The purpose of the PGA's Play Golf America initiative is to foster interest in the game of golf. We want to bring new golfers to the game, or bring old golfers back to the game," said Jeff Nixon, PGA professional and Growth of the Game chairman for the South Florida PGA Section.
The event will include pre-round golf-specific physical screenings and injury screenings from Body Balance for Performance-Naples. They will also provide one-on-one stretching and round preparation. The tournament itself kicks off at 1 p.m.
"We are excited to partner with Body Balance for Performance (http://www.naples.fitgolf.com) for this event," said Mike Dopslaff, director of golf and sponsorship chairman for the SW Chapter PGA. "So many golfers I know, young and old, can benefit from the golf specific programs that Body Balance for Performance offers."
"We have always wanted to have our own tournament, and we thought this opportunity would be a perfect match," said Mike Willett, physical therapist and president of Body Balance for Performance-Naples, the title sponsor for this event.
Through Body Balance for Performance-Naples, Willett offers a different brand of golf fitness training (http://www.naples.fitgolf.com) with new technology and techniques to reduce injuries from golf, and make mastery of the game easier for more people.
"Our mission goes right along with the Play Golf America mission," said Mike Via, vice president of Body Balance for Performance-Naples. "Both organizations want to get more people playing and help current players further enjoy the game of golf. We specifically address the physical fitness and health issues to help make that happen."
"As a golf professional and a teacher of the game, I can promise that better golf fitness leads to better golf scores," said Dopslaff. "The Play Golf America initiative will help introduce golfers to a better way to play."
The Demo Day runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeurves will be served after the Demo Day ends.
