Ball Marks Beware -- CGP to Showcase Its Full Line of Products at 2007 PGA Show
Orlando, FL (PRWeb) January 25, 2007 -- Each year millions of dollars are spent by golf course superintendents to repair damaged greens resulting from golfers who improperly repair their ball-marks. Cranman Golf Products, LLC (CGP) of Atlanta, GA, will showcase its full line of MarkMender™ ball mark repair tools that are designed to put an end to that problem. The cleverly designed MarkMender™ is a lightweight, pocketsize ball-mark repair tool that is revolutionizing the way ball-marks are repaired. The company will showcase all three of its products at this year's annual PGA Merchandise Show, January 24th through January 27th, in Orlando. Press kits will be available in the show's press room or at the CGP Booth (2915).
Over the pst 25 years the USGA has spent millions on numerous projects studying turf-grass issues. A June 2003 USGA sponsored report, titled Ball Marks on Bentgrass prepared by Rutgers University, stated whether "poorly repaired, or not repaired at all, ball marks are a major factor that limits the quality and playing conditions on putting greens." It is estimated that over 60% of all golfers do not know how to properly repair ball marks and the subsequent damage they cause can take weeks to heal. The MarkMender™ is easy to use and repairs any ball mark with ease with a simple squeeze. The product's prongs surround a ball mark and reach into the green. A golfer simply needs to squeeze and the ball mark is quickly and correctly repaired without further damaging the roots. Video's showing exactly how the product works are avialble at http://www.markmender.com/commercials.html.
Roy Cranman, the inventor and president of Cranman Golf Products recently said, "Most golf course managers and superintendents don't realize that the problem isn't that golfers are not fixing their ball marks, but rather that they are fixing them. It stands to reason that if most golfers get it wrong and it takes longer for an incorrectly repaired mark to heal that an unrepaired one, then using the old tool is like arming your enemy with lethal weapons. The industry has tried to teach golfers to do it right for over 100 years and golfers still don't get it and they are not going to suddenly learn how to do it. The MarkMender™ tool is the kind of quality innovation that could improve golf the same way soft spikes have. If golf clubs are really serious about solving their ball mark problems, it's only logical that they will implement the use of the MarkMender™ ball mark repair tool. It simply works better and is capable of preserving their greens and improving the playing experience for all golfers. Regrettably, many golfers now inadvertently use the traditional forked tool to go gardening on greens. Now there is a better way."
Golfers can carry the MarkMender™ comfortably in their pocket or clip it on their belt loop so it's readily available to make a repair. They can also use it to hold their cigars and keep their grips dry in damp conditions. The product is available in metal or plastic and can be customized with up to four 4-color domed labels.
At this year's show CGP will also be introducing its new line of domed bag tags and ball markers. "The bag tags are a thing of beauty. The perfect way to improve your club's image," said Cranman.
